Self-build shows to attend in 2023
Building an eco-efficient home in Graven Hill, the UK’s biggest self-build town, scooped first-time self-builders Catherine Buttery and Justin Metcalfe an award. But, most importantly, their dream family home.
It took a huge amount of research and time as the couple mulled over the best people and materials for their self-build. Fortunately, they found a provider to build their SIPs (structural insulated panels) system during a trip to a homebuilding show at the NEC in Birmingham.
The couple’s advice? Be prepared to do a lot of research, talk to lots of suppliers and see where you can save money.
Why visit a self-build show?
Self-build shows and exhibitions are well worth a visit when you’re about to embark on your self-build project.
You’ll find a plethora of self-build tips and advice on everything you need to know from finding a plot to securing finance and home design.
There are exhibitors for every home building product and service you can imagine, as well as the latest innovations and build systems.
As a wannabe self-builder, it’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of self-build, gaining expert self-build advice and inspiration. You might even meet Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud along the way.
